Name: Axel
Alias: Flurry of Dancing Flames
Age: 26
Height: 5’11
Weight: 165 lbs
Gender: Male
Alliance: Organization XIII
Weapon: Twin chakrams and fire
Bio: To have a heart would mean being whole; to have a heart would mean being a Somebody. Those who exist without are created in the image of their former selves, a mere replica. Axel reentered this world with not a name nor memory of his previous being. He had nothing; he was a Nobody. And as all Nobodies did, Axel questioned his existence, his purpose in this world and why he'd been given a second chance at achieving whatever it may be. When the Organization had introduced itself and the promises it offered, Axel was quick to accept a position in hopes that he'd solve the drawn-out riddles and ultimately, recover his heart. Although, as time went on, it seemed the leader had a much bigger plan in mind for the Organization than had first been exposed. Knowing the risks of deserting such a dangerous crew, Axel played it safe and remains a faithful servant to this day.
Personality: Deceptive. Selfish. Arrogant. Axel lacks discipline and self-control. He can’t be trusted, nor does he allow himself to trust in others; he is loyal to only himself. Fellow Organization Members find him to be too unpredictable and rather unpleasant to be around for extended periods of time. Axel is notorious for his hot temper and, quite literally, exploding on those who tick him off. Although, he does put up a friendly front at times, pretending to be the fun-loving trickster that he can only wish to be. He likes to play mind games, twisting words and manipulating those around him for information or simply for his own pleasure. Otherwise, Axel maintains a cool demeanor, watching his fellow members with cold, scheming eyes. And he may be conniving and controlling and ‘heartless’, and truth be told, he is jealous of all those whom possess hearts and ‘real emotions’ and memories, but he only behaves this way simply because he does not know how to react to the washes of ‘faux feelings’ that befall him. Sorrow, Anger, Happiness, Love… It confuses him and he is too proud-ridden to ask of anyone's consoling, considering it unnecessary and overall, a trait of weakness. However, it seems that he has found common ground with number XIII. Maybe there's hope for him yet.
Appearance:
Other: Axel’s independent and prefers to work missions single-handedly; he’s good at what he’s been assigned: to seek out those who dare leave the Organization and execute them without mercy.
Roleplay Sample: Axel gritted his teeth, peering up at the heart-shaped moon through the transparent walls of Castle Oblivion in a half-awestricken, half-spiteful stare. How long ago had it been since he’d joined Organization XIII? A year? Two years? Five? He’d lost all track of time. Not that time was something to worry about. But what did he have to show for all those nights stealing people’s hearts and tireless days vanquishing Heartless? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Axel dropped his hood and ran his fingers through his impossibly red hair, "It’s hopeless…” he whispered to no one in particular only to have the empty room mock him with echoes. He breathed onto the glass, tracing an outline of the moon with his finger. Maybe he really was just a hollow puppet fated to fall back into darkness. Maybe…but… Axel placed his hand over the heart then wiped it away, his emerald eyes glaring coldly at his reflection. He refused to believe it. There had to be more to this ‘second life’.
Axel clenched his fists at his side, trembling in rage and frustration, hating his very existence and the tortures it brought upon him. He tore his gaze away from Kingdom Hearts, flames sparking to life and licking up his arms; the more he thought about it, the stronger that little feeling in the pit of his stomach became. And it ate him up, taunted him with the numbing idea that 'maybe it really was hopeless'. And 'maybe he was just wasting time looking for answers'. Maybe it was time to let everything go and just give up. As quickly as the flames had come to life, they dissipated in a ribbon of smoke. Give up. Axel scoffed, pounding a fist to the wall. Now there was a tempting idea. He closed his yes, bowing forward to rest his forehead against the castle's chilled surface. Succumbing to darkness was sounding pretty good right now. A soft sigh escaped his lips. Too bad it wasn't that easy. A smile slid across his face and twisted into a stubborn smirk. And too bad he wasn't one partial to quitting.
